Nerdy Professor Book Club

Jennifer Richmond is the Nerdy Professor who has a PhD in English Literature with a specialization in British postcolonial literature and theory from Duquesne University, and an MBA from Western Governors University. She has been teaching literature and composition at the university level since 2000 and started this online book club to deepen the reading experience for participants so they understand the historical and cultural context that gave rise to the themes in each work, as well understanding the nuances of how each work is crafted so it becomes worthy of the reader's time. Having taught in an online setting for more than 13 years, the Nerdy Professor knows how to guide conversation among diverse participants so it flourishes but also stays focused, making sure each reader gets the most value out of the live book club meetings. Her aim: never stuffy, always interesting. She lives with her husband, two dogs, two cats, 12 hens, and one horse in rural Georgia and loves travel nearly as much as she loves books.
