About the event
The Nerdy Professor chose these novels because they collectively demonstrate the evolution of the novel genre and are, by most counts, considered classics not only for their brilliance, but because they wrestle with some of the most important social issues of their times. We will read, in this order: Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, The Awakening, Mrs. Dalloway, and Beloved.
Come to each meeting having read that month's novel and the Nerdy Professor will provide historical context, explain some of the key literary strategies the author uses, and lead conversation with participants, always leaving plenty of time for questions.
